the other day i woke up in the morning and for some strange reason had to just build a model A! am i the only one who dreams about hot rod's ::)anyway i pulled one of the AMT kits out of my pile and got to work. i knew it had to be really low, so i Z'd the frame in the back and channeled the body. the kit supplied Hemi had no front parts, so i robbed them from an Ala Kart part's kit. the rest is parts from the box. this one is going to be a stripped street racer. enjoy the pics! Ahhhh, those '29's are my favorite!!!!!!!!!! I'm planning one in my head and gathering parts. I just found the engine I've been looking for. Yours looks great. If you get a chance, take the body off and take a picture. I'd like to see the z-framed. Also, what adjustments did you need to make to get the channel job to work? Thanks, Mike.

This looks tight and right, my friend! Those valve covers look different for some reason. Kit offering??? They seem to have more detail than most. Maybe I'm just gettin overheated or over the hill. Dunno. This is definitely goin' to be kool. I got a '29 in the wings waitin' to hit the bench.

those are the kit valve covers, just sprayed them with some metalizer and gave them a wash to bring out the detail. i wish i took a picture before i glued the body on, but too late. maybe one from the bottom will work. there is no interior, so no problem there with the channel and i made a new firewall from sheet plastic. otherwise it was just dropping the body over the frame. Bob, the kit is the old AMT '29 roadster. i bought a handful in Walmart when they were 6 bucks. the only bad part is the kits dont have all the pieces, typical of AMT as they were going down. Dave

Metalizer!!! I should have thunked of dat! Thought at first that they were potmetal covers. Those look good. I am surprised that they came out so well, being that they came from AMT. But, sometimes, the quality shined through in unexpected places. I'm gearin' up to build MY '29 soon, so yours won't be so lonely with all the other '29'ers on the shelf.
