I've also made progress on these... Gilmore air racer (need to finish decals), '32 coupe (current obsession, hoped to finish this year...) Flintstone Merc (modified a 39 delivery interior) and (I believe) a Flintstone '40 custom pickup (modified a '59 Impala rear and adapting a Johan Mercedes 500K frame and engine.) Bob, don't hate on the plane... Its got some old skool charm

Looking good Steve. This JF body is actually based on a '37 Ford I beleive. I'm going a similar route to yours(big and elegant) with a 28 lincoln motor, 30something chrysler fenders(shortened) and a scratchbuilt frame. I cut out the JF molded grille, which is taken from the testors vantastic, and replaced it with the chromed testors peice. This thing as 99% fabbed, just can't decide how to handle the finish on the body. I was going for a late 40's coachbuilder shop truck, should I continue?

I can see yours with an elegant 2 tone paint job, maybe deep blue and silver? Are you going to scratch some hood sides for it? Love those Saturn wheels... Modelhaus? With the impala bed, I'm going more for wild custom. Nicknamed "Buzzard", I've got a 3 tone paint scheme in mind to play on the name. I used the parts from the Mercedes 500K because I wanted an engine to fill the space, which the straight 8 does quite amply. It'll have hood sides but no fenders. I'm only about 10% into this build, one of those that has a prime spot on the bench, but not much time dedicated to it.

At this point it'll probably stay green, but who knows.
The wheels and tires are from one of those VonDutch diecasts that offered the optional set of wheels and tires.
