Let me give the short backstory. Randy was in a self-proclaimed building funk. He just wasn't finishing any builds he started. Watching all these cool projects he had started languishing on his bench was killing me, so I decided to give him a jump start. I bought us both revell 32 roadsters and mailed him one. i gave us both the deadline of Christmas to build eachother a deuce , and then we'de exchange them around Christmas break. Well, as usual we both missed the deadline, but not by much. Randfink posted the '32 he built for me, so nows my turn to show the one I built for him. Very dissimilar- but still with a common heritage. It was a blast, and this way I got a real "randfink original" on my shelf. SCORE!!! I'll keep it short. if you have any questions, just ask. More pics @ the link... I used the Ardun engine from the monogram '50 Ford, with a few mods to make it more accurate.(based on the excellent Ardun history article in Rodders Journal). Added the 8 carb setup from the AMT 53 Ford pickup. Parts box interior. I borrowed the tonneu idea from Lyle Willits, but I used MCG vinyl top material instead of masking tape. E+J jeadlights are scratchbuilt. Thanks for looking! public.fotki.com/crstan/finished_models_by_me/merry-deucemass/

did you guys set up guidelines like what kolors to use and so on and so forth (details please) The only rule was that we were both supposed to keep it simple. As you can see, neither of us followed the rule. Where's the fun in that? ;D Randy

You know what they say about rules... Break 'em! Very nice builds, both of 'em! Yes, you can tell that there is a common heritage between the two. That Ardun is excellent!

Two great builds, and a great idea too! I like how they came out looking so different.
