here's some pics of the '32 roadster i just finished. this car was fully intended to be a "street rod" build, my first ever as an adult builder. the thing was as i got closer to being finished with it i realized it still had a very traditional look and feel to it. i was trying to be different! so the question is, what do you guys think? hmm well to me it's "street rod" and I think it's due to the wheels and engine.but both are TRakable, traditional? IMHO no. Nice looking modern style hot rod is what comes to mind for me. I like the piston shifter...where ya get it?

the wheels are Halibrands which are very TRaKable i think. the only pieces of the engine that could be out of place are the billet valve covers, but those have been shown here recently on another build without any real question? in the engine picture you can't see the electric fan or the A/C compressor. the chromed, finned box on the firewall is a very generic representation of i'm guessing an MSD ignition amplifier, but ignition amplifiers i think were around before '69.
i do agree it's more of a modern styled car than a truly traditional one. what comes to mind for me while looking it at is those cars featured in the Rodder's Journal that are traditionally styled, but built with many modern components.
the piston topped shifter is from the Revell '32 5-window kit. i should have fixed the mold lines and repainted it.

I know the wheels are TRaKable and the engine etc....I just meant that it's appearance doesn't bring me to the pre 69 thought if ya know what I mean? What I should have said is the tires not wheels. However, thats just my personal opinion of them...doesn't mean it's not worthy to post here.

i know what you mean by the appearance. although it does have a traditional hot rod feel to it, it was intended to be a more modern street rod. although i think too it may be welcome here and folks here would like it i just don't feel good about posting it knowing at least in my mind that it's not a traditional rod that fits the rules.

I like it. I don't usually make that distinction between street rods and traditional, unless they're all gunked up with billit and bling. Or have the body lines distorted all to hell.
