Love how well he blended the colors on the small details. My guy charges $300 for a 6 hour session and he's the best in the state. His waiting list is 6 months long. When I make my appointments I have to make 5 all at once just to make sure I get the work done. I still have a whole shoulder/arm/back piece thats been an outline for 3 yrs. Its a cover up/redo that needs to be done before I can start on the hot rod flames up my forearms.
Very kickass TAT!! What shop do you go to? I take it that its in sunny Florida?

$300 for 6 hours is damn cheap. Any artist worth anything in Portland is $100-$150 an hour. It gets more expensive the further south you go. The average in LA is running around $200-$250 an hour. Some of the high profile artist in the LA basin run as high as $500 an hour. Get your butt on the tube and everyone wants you doing their ink, so you can charge insane rates and they pay it.
A guy I know here in Portland had Kat Von D do a piece for him a couple of years ago. The session was 1 hour and 45 minutes and cost him $700. Insane, but he has a piece done by Kat.

HOLY SHIT! Thats insane! Thats the great thing about living in Columbus, Indiana. Theres no overpaid Reality TV stars or tattoo artists here. LOL!! Just cornfields, woods, and gun stores. The guy who does my ink came from Kansas, I think. Its been 3 or 4 yrs. since I've had anything done. But his old customers still come up from where he came from to get inked by him. And Earl, whoever did your inkwork did one hell of a kickass job!!! Some of the best Rat Fink ink I've seen yet! I've seen Roth's art chopped to hell by some tattoo artists. Your guy nailed it!

Kat is great but $700.00 is steep! I'll stick to my guy here. I'm getting more done next year in Kentucky from my best friend for free!

My guy here does portraits just as good as Kat, if not, better. And he doesn't charge celebrity prices. Kentucky has a great shop down there called Tattoo Charlie's. Thats where everyone went for the best work until Skeleton Crew Tattoo showed up here in Columbus about 6 yrs. ago. They have a website as well. I just went to it and its being updated right now, but I'll post it anyway. skeletoncrewtattoo.com/
