This is an older build and a favorite of mine. The best Studebaker customs are the ones that don't go overboard on the styling, and I wanted to capture the essence of the Stude with my custom. I filled the upper grilles and created a small lower grille opening with a custom bumper/turn signal unit. I reshaped and flared the front wheelwells and created a reveal line that sweeps along the entire bodyside to resolve behind the reshaped rear wheelwell- a logical continuation of the stock cove shape. I reshaped the rear fenders, adding '59 Cadillac taillights. A '50 Ford licence plate holder was blended into the trunk and '57 Corvette rear bumpers wew added. The top was chopped by only about three scale inches. Satco tires and '57 Corvette wheels provide the rolling stock. The Corvette also gave up its fuelie engine. I used Plastruct "roofing tile" sheet for the diamond-tuck inserts on the interior, and the steering wheel also came from the 'Vette. THe paint is a custom-mixed blue over white- all Testor's.
