Hi! I'm new to this board, and I'll start out by trying to post some pictures of one of my latest completed bulids. (Since I have a hopeless digital-camera, I have borrowed the pics from the IPMS-Denmark's homepage)... Hope this works /Christian

Chris, did you say that you only lived a few minutes from Steve Kohler? i think you said 3? could/would you check on something for me? would you ask what donor kit if any that it takes to build his late '40's early '50's Chubby C.O.E. hauler and find out a price for me and pm me? thanks.

Ahhhhh, sorry for interrupting......but Chris and me, we live in Copenhagen, Denmark. I donĀ“t recal Steven Kohler lives over here.

Hi Duane - Sorry, it's RodBurNeR that lives next to Steve (He wrote it in a reply to something I posted about R&R resin).
However, I do have a few ideas for building it, as I've thought about it myself a couple of times...
From what I've seen on the web, it seems that the hauler is based on the classic AMT '50 chevy 3100 kit from the nineties, so you're probably able to use a lot of the chrome/glass parts plus the engine from this kit.
However, judging from the size of the kit and the fact that it's made of resin, I would strongly suggest that you scratchbuild the frame (The frame in the kit is slightly V-shaped and with several cross-sections its really a pain to "stretch" - I know from when i built a phantom duallie crew-cab...)
You might be able to use the springs and front axle from the kit, but the rear axle is WAAAAAYYYY to thin and fragile to hold the weight of such a massive resin-brick. (R&R bodies and interiors are usually cast in VERY thick resin).
Regarding the price, it cost $ 53 last time i checked STAR-models' pricelist.
Good luck with your project!
