Somebody wrote that there aren't enough choppers on this forum.Well, I guess this one fits into the overall "traditional" theme. (If not, just remove the thread,,,,,at my age, I'll forget that I posted it in a few days anyway) One of the new Revell chopper kits, backdated to the early 70's with an Imex shovelhead, extended forks, no front brake and pshycodelic paint. Handelbars, sissy bar and chain guard where made from twisted silver wire. (My wife makes handmade jewelry so I stole some wire ;D) I spent a lot of time with a Dremel to cut in a tread pattern on the Revell back tire. the stash pouch was scratchbuilt from plastic and painted masking tape. I made the seat and p-pad which are now in Replicas & Miniatures Co. of Md.'s line. Lots of hand painting. At shows, I dedicate this bike to the memory of Ricky Couch. I think he would have liked it.

Yeah! Ricky AND Larry would have flipped out on this one. This almost has an early Arlen touch to it as well. Nice touch on the paint and the bars. The "74" looks JUST right in that frame! The boards look GREAT! Fork length Throw a "speedometer" braid on the sissy-bar, and you got a period chopper. I like how you did this one. I'm glad to see that I ain't the only bike-builder on this forum! I can almost see Willie G perched on this one grinnin' form ear to ear.

cool! More choppers! This 70's chop is Great! Imex Shovelhead?....Gimme more info on that one. Nice build! In the late 80's / early 90's Imex did a few 12th scale Harleys. They made a Fatboy and tried to pass off the engine as an Evo, simply by tooling up new heads for the older shovelhead. I used that engine and scratchbuilt the heads from plastic, polished them, painted them with Duplicolor Chrome and added red-painted pin heads for bolt covers. I never had one of the Imex shovelhead engines, so I had to do the scratchbuilding thing. You can probably find some of the old Imex kits on Ebay.
