i'm trying to figure out an air cleaner or scoop for this thing still. with exception to the disc brakes on the front axle, which i tried to tone down, this is true to say 1960. i need to find an air cleaner or scoop from that year or earlier. the coolest looking so far, but a bit over the top is the stock one from the '50 Ford pick-up. it has the 4-barrel carb from the Revell '55 Chevy on it. the stock air cleaner from a '68 Dart looks good too and somewhat passable as a early part. for now it just has nothing, but eventually it will have the right air cleaner or scoop. Bob, those rear tires and rims are from Performance Plastics i think and are meant for vintage stock cars. very nice plastic rims and vinyl tires. the tires are for stock cars from '57-'59 and are Goodyear truck tires. i used some of the deep offset 6-lug rims on my '60 Chevy pick-up project. Dave

I'm really diggin' this rod! Sparse is one word that comes to mind, and that would fit it perfectly. Looks like somethin' that Lil' Johhny could run with on a 1960 budget, and still be fast. Don't know about pickin' up chicks, though, with the battery where SHE would be sittin'. But, It's still KOOOOOOL!!! Post a pic with that air cleaner on. I wanna see it! I thought that maybe one of the Caddy air-cleaners might also look good for this.

Fantastic build for a couple of days. I like the roll pan and the header detailing. Nice subtle blackening of the tips for signs of a lead foot!
