NICE ! cool touch leaving the instrument cluster out....nails it as being a low budget home built rod.

nice build! it's got a bit of attitude to it and a nice amount of weathering. glad to see too that i'm not the only one who has put the floor UNDER the frame lately! Dave

Thanks everybody! I was hoping I wouldn't get dissed for calling it that bad three letter R word that Bob hates so much on MCM when I posted it there. It must bother him because the only rat associated with cars before '70 was a cartoon character! It's no big deal, it's just going to be hard for my lazy ass to not use it here. Yeah Dave, I hear ya on the floor. I don't know how tall the people are that drive the channeled rods with the floors still on top of the frame.(Especially cars that still have a roof) They say our average height has increased steadily over the years, but come on! We weren't all 5 feet tall in the 60's.

(i admit they look cool) but when a person builds a HOT ROD and someone calls it a rat rod, yes it irritates the hell out of me......but that is my personal problem lol Merry Christmas

Rat Rods were cool when they were home made, thrown together contraptions. Problem began when they became the 'fad', and people would paint their rides in primer with red rims and suddenly they were in with the rat scene. Then Boyd and Foose throw up their 60K 'rat rods, Well, it just ruined the whole concept. I don't use the phrase any more.

Very nice. What did you use for the mesh on the grill? I've seen other builds using something similair. What is it?

You can find it in any craft store like Michaels, A.C. Moore, and Ben Franklin. One pack will probably cover you for about 30 years. ;D
