Hi there, okay let me try again to show one of my older finished models. It´s the old AMT 49 Mercury.Made a topchop, used the custom engine from the kit.It looks like an older Mopar engine for me and used the wheels from an 53 studebaker.Added the fenderskirts and some other custom parts from the kit.Painted from spraycan...The chrome was painted with silver....never heard about BMF at this time,LOL.It was built in 2001. I build this one shortly after I went back into modelbuilding... No wireing on the engine etc..... I hope it will match the boardrules..... Cheers,Chris

NOTHING wrong with this one! Beautiful build, even without BMF. Do you remeber what manufacturer made the 53 Studebaker wheels? (what kit?)

It was reissued the last time in the late 90's, I think. It MAY have been reissued more recently, but I'm senile, so what the hell do I know.

Alright, now that's what I call service! ;D Thanks for the pic, Chris. Wouldn't you know it, I know I've seen that kit at the club meets and had no interest.... It figures. Now I have a project for the wheels.

Beautiful build. I always thought it was strange AMT chose the Wedge as an alt engine for this kit...but man that would make it haul.

Excellent chop and overall build. Its great to see an AMT merc too instead of another revell one. Oh yeah that motor is a 426 max wedge This is nit-picking, but the original Merc kit referred to the engine as a 413. I don't think back then, Mopar had bored it out to 426 yet. Of course, in 25th scale, it externally looks the same anyway.
