A couple of years ago I went to a car show in Sycamore Illinois where I saw (And fell in love with) a gorgeous pearl white '61 Merc with a red metal flake roof.... On the drive home I mentally went through my stash of suitable kits for the same such treatment.... By the time I arrived at home I had settled on AMT's '61 Galaxie and work began immediately! Here is the result...... Eric Gajda photo Mild touches include shaving the handles and emblems. Tube grilles and Lucas lights are kit items. Paint is Revlon "Pearl Flash" nail polish and Duplicolor Metalcast red, wheels and tire are parts box items..... As always, your questions, comments and concerns are welcome!

I love how simply sweet that style is! No extravagances, just kruizer!

very slight kustom touches and beautiful 2-tone paint; this car is GORGEOUS !!! i like a low-key kustom; they can look as sharp as a full-blown kustom.

Very nice Marty, I know the previous and present owners of the car of which you speak. It is a great looking ride, just like your build. Mike.
