A few years ago, Monogram's '58 Thunderbird was chosen as a same kit build theme for one our KKIM shows. While most of the guys went the Kustom route with their builds, I, of course, chose to go in a slightly "different" dirrection...... To get the gasser stance, I used the entire chassis and drive train from Monogram's "Bad Man" '55 Chevy kit. Paint is Duplicolor Metalcast, "Jolly Green Gasser" decals were by Gooche, hood scoop is also from the "Bad Man" kit. I was never all that fond of this build, so when fellow KKIM member, "Doc Styrene", said that he wanted it for his collection it went home with him.

Man, you have way too many finished models! This one, like all the others, is cool!

Bob, when did we start allowing people who finished models onto this board???
Laughing, I think you took a great route with what could've been a 'yawn' build...it looks killer as a gasser.

Seems like a way unlikely candidate for a gasser, but that's what they were all about, eh? Nice build.

The name says it all!!!! Way out there build, and I LOVE it! Great job on a subject that has a look only lovable to a mother or a die-hard HOTRODDER!
