I built this for the Vintage Plastic Challenge. Following gmckid's lead, I'll post it here too. The story goes: Our 1:1 builder is a dry lakes racer from southern Cali around 1950-55. One day while at the aviation junkyard looking for a belly tank, he spots a stock Model A roadster painted olive drab with a star on each door. He figures it must have belonged to a general in a past life and would make a cool hotrod. He drags it home and locates a yard with a Deuce V8. After this trip he returns home with the engine, tranny, grille assembly, and wires. A few weekends later and this appears around town: It was great fun to build and nothing gave me too much friction. Every time I worked on it, more got done. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed building it! Parts list: Body, interior, and windshield are from the 60's issue AMT roadster gluebomb; the frame and suspension are Revell's 31 tudor; the engine/trans, grille assembly, firewall, wheels, tires and exhaust are AMT 32 Vicky; the taillights are from the new Revell 32 sedan; and the headlights are from the Revell 32 3 window. Oh, here's what I started with:

Nice work, dub. The subtle weathering is outstanding! I really have to do a non-shiny car next...

Thanks guys! I appreciate it. ;D do you want to get rid of those original wheels and tires Man, everybody is on me for these wheels... must mean they're special..... ahhhhh, I'm gonna hang on to them. I don't mean to turn you down every time, Nathan dude. Please don't take it personal. I feel so bad for saying no, but I still don't have a huge stash built up yet. (it's getting there, though) When I know you need something I have no want for, or multiples of, I'll hook you up. I PROMISE! ;D (If you want any, I got a ton of 4-banger parts from the Revell r*t rod kits, but who here doesn't? )

Saw this one posted elsewhere, but I thought I'd comment on it here. Great looking hot rod! Love the subtle weathering, and the back story makes it real!
