I dig the smooth flow of the lines on this '34 3 window. It all just "works" to my eye...

The chop on that 40 is almost perfect to my eyes. It's a pretty ambitious job too. That thing had to be cut into a lot of pieces to get that roofline to flow the way it does. If I could get one there'd be yet another project on my bench.

Ron, that image is just what I was looking for, for my long-stalled Autorama Bantam altered project. I wanted to make a vintage Nitro container to display with it, but had trouble finding a decent image of one. This'll do! Wish I could read the small print... *EDIT* Well shucks...I already had this image saved in the reference folder for that project, just completely forgot about it Woo, senility!

Thanks Charley; for some reason I had banked a memory that said "nope, no nitro can pictures out there" but I had actually found that 5 gal photo already. However...those 2 photos are the only 2 I did find! So...if you can find any more, I'd love to know about 'em. Were the 5gal cans labelled the same on both sides? Does it even matter?

Rodder’s Journal #26. Story about “Dyno” Don Nicholson reveals that guys were running dualies on passenger cars to save money vs. wide slicks. I always figured this was a rat rod thing...

Interesting! Other than that, the only other dually photo I can remember is Tom Cobb's roadster, apparently trying to get more traction for one of the country's first drag races:

Since I am rereading this article I know I came across this before, but I guess I never really payed attention to the pic. I wonder how prevalent this was, I have spent time on many a website and I can’t think of another I have come across.

Wow, I've never seen anything quite like that before! I wonder what the tail section was made out of... The roof/rear window must be Studebaker though.

Yes, they are probably Aluminum I-Beam frame rails. I have read (several sources), about Aluminum frame rails being used in a couple of different early dragsters. I think Eddie Hill used aluminum frame rails in his first dragster.

And we have a winner of the caption contest for the photo (aluminum frame rails) above. We're sorry there is no actual prize, however it made me laugh out loud. Thanks, I really needed that. Gary
