Awesome work! I think it looks better without the large front overhang. Maybe the B pillar could be rounded over a little bit so it doesn't cut against the flow of the roof? Right now my brain is telling me "the corner of the B pillar could be flowed back down to the beltline with a landau spear". Yikes, how about no landau spear.

I think it's better without those bumpers, that was the right move. Nice work on the hood scoops. I'm still not sure about the filled rear quarter windows; it adds too much mass to my eye, but maybe when it's painted I'll get it.

Hot Tub cover??? Oh crap, now I'm thinking about how I'm gonna plumb the damn thing! Thanks for puttin' that wonderful idea into my head. Stu, the top will be painted flat white which I think will look pretty decent with a nice, shiny black paint job on the body. SHAMU will rise again!!!!! (Really, that's not the color I was thinkin' for the body.) However...... Gary

Awesome custom work! I love the Packard tail lights, and the tighter front bumper is a huge improvement. Anyway I admire all of your creative custom work, fantastic!

I tried to post yesterday, but the page went blank on me before I could, so I'll try again tonight. I've been working on this off and on and have some progress to report. I still have a little finessing to do with the body work, but I'm getting pretty close. The frame/chassis has also come a long way and is nearly finished. I have a pretty big order ready for plating by Chrome Tech which includes parts for this model so I need to get that out to them. Thanks for checking back in, Gary

Good to see this one back. Wow, that's some smooth bodywork, looking great.
I assume the suspension will sit a little lower? Needs a drop of maybe 2mm in back even if you don't touch the front.

Mike, sorry but the suspension is set. It's nowhere as low as my other AMT Merc's but in paint it should look a lot lower. Gary

To be fair they werre all ground scrapers - especially if your local police force was hot on handing out tickets.
Can't wait to see it in paint.

I've been waiting for just the right day to repaint the top and interior. Actually I didn't want the body this red either but that's the way it's gonna be. I was supposed to use a darker red over black but grabbed bright red by mistake. I had been using flat white as a primer, that way all I would need to do would be to mask the top and paint the body. Well, that didn't work out either. I thought I didn't like the white top over the red so I masked the body and painted the top with Testors flat Sand Beige! Well, that didn't work out because I wanted a tan but got a yellowish color instead. So, day before yesterday was a nice, dry, relatively cool day, so I stopped working on the 41 Ford Coupe. Out came the masking tape, and I painted the top with flat white again. Looks fine to me now, and work begins again. Here she is, unmasked. I'm also thinking about making a new chassis. I don't think much of the current ride height. It's been over 2 years since I painted the top the previous time and that totally turned me off to doing anything else until now. I'll try and get it done now though. Finishing a model, that would be nice for a change. Gary
