Looking great Gary, I like the poppy red color. Terrible many hiccups, but it seems that you managed to "clear" all paint errors :-) A tad lower in the rear would fit the bill!

Started on a new chassis today. The kit I used for this model was the "Rides" kit. It has totally different suspension parts for the front and rear, but also has the stock rear 2 pc. assembly. Since I had most of another kit I was able to scrounge all of the parts I need for a do-over of the chassis. Right now, the attachment of the stock front pan is next on my list. Kinda flimsy mounting as it comes out of the box! Gary

I can see how you might have grabbed the wrong can of red by mistake. What I don't understand is how you could continue to paint an entire body before realizing it?! LOL! I know I would have stopped after the first light coat and grabbed the color I wanted to use in the first place knowing it would simply cover it up being in the same color family. I am not picking on you by any means here........really!......just curious what your thought process was through out this hiccup!

Duhh is my excuse! Just assumed I had the right can of paint. Gary I could see that easily happening if the color you picked up by mistake as similar in shade to the color you thought you had. But, my curiosity stems from the fact that you CONTINUED to paint the entire body (more than the initial first coat) with the wrong color! LOL! If you told me it was because it turned out that you liked this lighter color red that would be very plausible to me.

This thing just looks so damned COOL! I really hope you stay with it and get it finished Gary! Personally, I like the color red you have on it. I think it goes really well with the white top.

I got the new chassis to the point that I could get it up on the wheels and tires. Below are 2 pictures, one before and then one with the new height. It made quite a difference didn't it! This time I checked the available parts and found that there was a complete lowered front suspension, upper and lower "A" frames along with spindles that could be used with stock suspension components or flipped for the lowered version. I used the kit lowered version for the new chassis. In the rear, I used the kit lowered rear end assembly but de-arched the springs further to lower it more. Maybe I can use the already finished chassis for some other build! Gary

I actually like the color it is now too Gary! I hope you did not think that I was attacking you, singling you out, or otherwise picking at you because that was not my intent.

OK, so what happened with this one was....... I just wasn't feeling it if ya know what I mean. It didn't look "right", it didn't look good, and my heart wasn't in it to work on it any more. And it was so close to being done too! The chassis/engine were finished except for the tailpipe tips, the interior was finished, it was final painted and I had all the misc. to finish it. I had been working on my 53 Ford for about six weeks and have it to a point of a final prime, then the weather turned and painting is put on hold. Pretty much the same thing happened with my 57 T-Bird custom, it was all ready too. That one's done and so is this one now too. Thread coming soon on the shelf. Gary
