Actually that'd be a great idea - I've recently found pictures of the classic Rader DBR100 Mags as old as from 1962. Have they been an issue or contested here? I know I haven't used them because of the 1:1 crowd making them more popular today then they were back in the '60's.......and that trickling down into the modeling realm! LOL! I actually started to dislike them because that was all I was seeing for quite a while.......wide whites and Radir (Rader) wheels!!!! Their TRaK'ability has never been questioned - I was just very surprised to see how early they became available. Speaking of which; I recently discovered an ad for Astro Supremes (the original design) in an issue of Popular Hot Rodding way back from '63. I am going to sand off the pinstripe flames and shoot clear over it again or maybe just polish it out if possible. That was my first attempt at free handing pinstripes. They look like shit to me now. It was just something I wanted to try at the time. The wheels and tires are going to go back to the original four slots and Good Year Polyglas two piece tires. I'm not going to change it to make it TRaKable. It is what it is. It either fits or it doesn't. I found my original (what's left of it) the other day. I may build something that'll fit here with it. I honestly think it'd be a shame to re-do the '34 in order to make it fit the guidelines. While the proportions may be off (albeit not as bad as Revell's Buttera '34), and the look may be dated, it's still a pretty cool piece of history and the finish doesn't look half bad either...

Roger why not just leave it as is? I think it's cool as a box art build! In fact, do you mind if I add it to the instructions archives?

Roger,Sorry I was not more clear, I did not mean to imply that you should change it, just how you might if you wanted TRaK-ability. We should all build just what we like, I don't post here or elsewhere, because I'm a terrible photographer, and at my age I would rather spend my very limited hobby time building my mostly un TRaK-able models.

I just want to make it a little closer to box stock than it is currently. The original wheels had bad chrome and I made the mistake of stripping and repainting them. I now have a set with nice chrome that I can put back on it. It's not in any danger of being changed any time soon. Very possible that it may never happen. LOL Regardless of it's TRaKability, it's sparked a good discussion and I've learned a few things. Hopefully, others have also. I'll take that over attaboys any day!

I actually found a photo of it with the box on my computer and added it to my photobucket. If you want, I can post that photo here and you can use it. I still haven't found the instructions to it! I know I have them. I just can't locate them.

No apology necessary Robt. No offense was taken. I don't build a lot of TRaKable models either. I have some in the works. But, I usually just take a model wherever it leads me. My original ideas don't always make it to the end. If it comes down to being TRaKable or being what I feel the model needs. I'm going to give the model what I feel it needs every time.
