Thanx guys, I appreciate the comments! I got the final sanding done. I also got the recesses cut out for the tail lights and I radiused the wheel openings a scale inch all around. They just looked too small to my eye. Whether they are or aren't, I don't know. As usual, I'm going through grief trying to pick out a set of wheels and tires for this thing. The first I put together were these that I'm really leaning towards. 20180425_161302-1 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr Then I had a set of Torque Thrusts laying around. I don't much care for them. 20180425_175135-1 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr While I was at it, I grabbed a set of Cragars and stuck on it. I think they'll look nice with the black and I'm seriously thinking that if I use these, that I'll also use the flame decals that came with the kit. Once I get some black paint on it, I should be able to nail something down. Hopefully. 20180425_184218-1 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr

I like either the moon discs or the Cragars. Flames could look good! Something like the Lorenzo Merc, maybe?

Very tidy work. I'm not usually that keen on Moon discs, but I think I like those the best here. Can't go wrong with black paint and flames.

BEAUTIFUL work!!!
My vote is for the Moon discs from AMT's Studebaker Avanti and a mile-deep piano black paintjob!

Cast my vote for the moons & WWs. Mags are too "street-roddy!"

What are the first set of wheels from fella? They're from the Studebaker Avanti. The red lip is a .010 band I added to make them a little bigger. The rears have a little wider band to give them a touch of off set.

Cast my vote for the moons & WWs. Mags are too "street-roddy!" Well, I'm kinda wanting a street rod look. But, it has such an attitude with the discs and white walls that it's hard to ignore. Either set will go with the black paint and flames (if I do them). I gotta see it in color before I make up my mind though.

Have you tried chrome reverse rims with baby moons on narrow white walls?...kinda a more mid 60s look

You could always borrow Ron's idea and have different wheels on each side.

You made the chop look easier than it probably was! But I have always been a proponent of measure 5 times and then cut! Looks really good!

Very nice work. That's about as prototypical chop on a "round top" as I've ever seen done. You use the exact same techniques that a full size chop does. With a rounded top it's a little harder though because there is always that filler section that gets added, that's always difficult to make look right without the top looking stretched; you got it exactly right on!
Once I chopped the top on a VW Bug, with a great deal of help. That's one of the worst case round top chops, to get the contours right the top has to be cut into four sections and stretched with filler panels. Otherwise the eggs shape is flattened out, which happens on most round top chops. My oppinion if a vehicle has a chopped top, then the contours of the top, the doors, window openings should all look like they came that way from the factory. Because what you are doing is trying to improve on the factory design whether it's for wind cheating racing or low-n-slow Kustom is trying to make it look just right, not just chopped! Which is what I took the long way around in saying I think your chop looks just right with the right amount of attention to detail!
