I got the body in the final primer coat. It didn't need much touch up on the outside. The inside was a different story. I've done a lot of shimming and filling to get the body fitted to the fenders. The lines are all nice and snug now. I've made the switch to Tamiya primer and am very happy with it. It doesn't seem to attack the evergreen styrene or the putty like other primers do. 20180430_195352-1 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr 20180430_195526-1 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr

Very impressive chop and for the look, I love your whitewalls and full wheel covers, especially what you did with the red added, and the stance is perfect, cool man, oh and I love black!

This has to be one of the best (if not the best) chopped AMT '40 sedan I've seen yet! I love your work Roger! I can't wait to see this beauty in paint now! LOL! btw, it is begging for a late '50's/early '60's style custom interior!

Man, you make it look easy. This is a killer chop, and saved to my "how to" folder.

Very nice!...what are those wheel covers?? They're from the Studebaker Avanti. I added the red portion with .010 styrene. The rears are a touch deeper.

LOL! btw, it is begging for a late '50's/early '60's style custom interior! Thanx! It'll get a set of custom bucket seats up front (maybe) from the '49 Ford. But, that's it. I want to keep this model simple.

Man, you make it look easy. This is a killer chop, and saved to my "how to" folder. Thanx Chris! It IS easy. A little more labor intensive than a normal chop. This chop went back together better than any I've done before. I didn't have to shim a single cut.

This is looking very good, the chop turned out perfect! The Cragars looked pretty good on it too, but I have to say that in my opinion those Moon caps with red steelies and whitewalls is looking so good on it that I'd have to go with them. Well, either way I know it'll look excellent when it's done.

I got some color sprayed on the body finally. I had to a do a couple more sanding and primer sessions on the roof. This is just a couple of dry coats over the primer. I kept having issues sanding through the primer in places. So,I thought I would spray some paint over the primer to give me a little more to work with. I don't like spraying paint over primer that hasn't been sanded. But, with the paint on it, I'll be able to see my progress better when I do sand it. I decided to go with a brown color for the interior. It's not a whole lot different than the color it was molded in. I'm really liking the discs and white walls with the black. I still want to do mockups with the other wheels before I commit to these. 20180507_160105-1 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr 20180507_155950-1 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr

It really looks sinister in that last photo! WOW!!!!!!! I'm not a fan of full wheelcovers generally; but they look right at home on your chopped sedan!
