Very sinister, looks good! If it were mine...there would be cutouts installed in the front fenders, just ahead of the running boards...a little hint of chrome to spice things up and hint at a hopped-up mill. The chop is so smooth, it looks like it came from the factory that way. Black paint and no ghosting on the roof, that's an accomplishment

I've actually been mulling over something similar to that Chris. But, I wouldn't put them through the fenders. I'm using the kit headers. So, I don't know how it would look to have headers and cut outs. I'm going to have to make a windshield for it. There's no way the kit piece will work. I'm dreading that.

When I made the windshield for my '37 Chevy gasser years ago I took this clear yellow plastic (from a folder) and carefully folded it (after cutting out the shape of the windshield) to put the crease in the center. You have to be careful not to fold it over 100% or you could 'fog' the crease; plus there's no need to crease it that severely anyway. Obviously, you'd use clear plastic or lexan here. Just a thought.

The original tudor kit had side exit headers that came out just under the rear of the front fenders. That is what I'm going to use on mine.

I added the flame decals to it. But, I'm not sure if I like them or not. In a way, they're kinda cool. In another way, they're kinda hokey looking. If I keep them, I'll have to spray on more clear. If I ditch them, I can polish it. So, give me an opinion one way or the other. 2018-05-15 00.35.41 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr 2018-05-15 00.36.19 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr

I'm a bit on-the-fence with the flames...They're authentic enough, remind me of 60s-built models, though the flame style is perhaps a bit modern for the 50s era. Maybe a bit distracting?? If you were to remove some, I'd suggest maybe leaving the ones over the headlights--that would give just enough flame to add interest without overwhelming the car.

I removed all of the flame decals. They just didn't look right to me. Too busy. I'm close to having this one done. Hopefully, in time for a contest on another board. Basically, I just gotta finish up the body. I've decided to stick with the discs and white walls for now. I've fixed them so they can be removed easily if/when I change my mind. The engine is done. I added the breathers from the 36. I'll probably change them out later as they don't fit the carburetors just right. They'll do for now though. 2018-05-18 00.13.50-1 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr I only detail painted the chassis. I had to split the wishbone up front to allow room for the headers. 2018-05-18 01.44.13-1 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr The interior is straight out of the box with just paint and foil. I didn't feel like doing much to it since it won't be seen that we'll anyway. It's just going to be a shelf model anyhow. 2018-05-18 00.12.22-1 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr 2018-05-18 00.13.02-1 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr The paint is in pretty decent shape now. I sprayed a couple of coats of clear over it. It just needs to be sanded and polished. 2018-05-18 02.18.46 by Roger Hayes, on Flickr

Love it, Roger. Simple but very effective!
Good call on shit-canning the flames. They looked too toy-like.

I like it as is now.....and think it's much better without the flames too! I don't see any conflict in the engine parts combination. It looks good too!

I'm glad you mentioned the need to split the wishbone. I would have run into a problem if you didn't. If I didn't already mention it, that chop looks perfect. Gary

Love it, Roger. Simple but very effective! Good call on shit-canning the flames. They looked too toy-like. Thanx! I got rid of them about an hour after I put them on. They were still set pretty good as I had used decal solvent on them. I had to use it and hot soapy water to get them off. I have the body sanded again and have started polishing it. Should have it done pretty soon.

This is looking really good, I also think removing the flames was a good call. I think it would look good with somekind of flames, but those weren't the ones. Anyway, I think it looks killer without, too. All other sub-assemblies look really good too, even though there isn't much extra detail. I wish I could remember that sometimes when I try to add too much detail stuff in somewhere.

I thought I'd commented, but yes, it looks much tougher without the flames. I think you go have to go the whole hog with the Bob McCoy thing, or not at all. It is hard to chop one of these and make it look good, but you definitely pulled it off.
