Looking good, like the trim rings on the wheels, those red air-baggies on the rear end gotta go! As per your usual building style everything is well thought out and even planned, why can't I do that too!!

It appears you have 2-3 projects nearing the finish line at the same time. Looking forward to seeing them done. The wheels with trim rings look great! I’m off work all next week for my annual “vacation” so I’m pushing hard to get everything in paint since I do all of my spraying at the shop. We’re going away for a few days and we have some other family activities planned but I’m hopeful that I’ll have the “me time” to get this and the ‘28 Drag Sedan finished. They should both assemble pretty quick. The wheels are painted now and I’m really happy with the look of the trim rings.

UPDATE! Getting very close to the end of the paint stage. At this point all that is left is to clear coat and polish the frame, body and related pieces. Here are the finished wheels. Paint is Tamiya Silver Leaf spray with their flat clear over it. This is my new favorite raw aluminum approach! Here’s some parts. The seats are painted the same way as the wheels. And this one should give a good idea of where this thing is headed! Stay tuned for final assembly!

Super classy. I love that little warning decal on the fuel tank. Where did that come from?

UPDATE!I was hoping to finish this model over the past weekend but it didn't happen. I did, however, get more work done on it. Th e carburetors are now finish painted and permanently installed. I also installed the Spalding dual coil distributor and made up the ignition wires. At this point the engine is done except for running the coil wires and fuel lines, which can't happen until the body is final installed.

Is your alternator just floating out in space? LOL! I can't tell if you made a bracket for it or not. I love the engine......another perfect selection of parts! I'm also glad you 'chromed' the elbow stacks........mucho-needed! LOL!

Is your alternator just floating out in space? Yes it is and I DGAF! LOL! I’m happy with how the Olds turned out. If you look back at previous installments you’ll notice I decided to change the intake to a Weiand style 4-carb setup. Looks tougher!

I’ve seen a bunch of people get weird over the “floating alternator” thing but it has never, ever been an issue for me. If the alternator or generator happens to come molded with a tensioning arm (like a lot have in newly tooled kits of recent years) that’s a cool bonus but I don’t think twice about one that doesn’t. Wanna know what bugs the shit out of me? Crooked headlight lenses!!!

Crooked headlight lenses bother me as well; but floating alternators didn't until someone else pointed it out to me! Now I can't unsee it! LOL!
