It's interesting to see the solutions you come up with. I've been working on the Olds in a 32 frame as well. What are your plans for motor mounts?

The Olds and Caddy have interesting mounts. Mine barely clears the bottom pulley, but I think it would work on the 1:1

UPDATE!It can actually be beneficial to take a break from a project for a while. Sometimes it gives you clarity! Case in point: As some time has passed since I last worked on this project one of the things about it that has been bugging me more and more is that totally half-assed way I handled the front motor mounts. If you look real close at the picture below between the front and middle pipes of the header you can see that I simply stuck some round rod through the block to sit on the kit motor mounts molded to the frame. That just wasn't going to cut it so I designed and made a front motor mount plate that attaches to the timing cover and fits nicely behind the belt and pulleys. Then I cut off the molded motor mounts and made new mount tabs further forward. The result is way more "professional" looking and just way more Hot Rod looking! Another thing I addressed was the cylinder heads. I am using the basic engine from Revell's 1950 Oldsmobile Custom. Trying to drill spark plug wire holes revealed that there are not proper flat reliefs in the areas where the plugs would be causing the holes to have to be at an angle. That would have looked all-wrong once the wires and boots were installed. I removed the heads and replaced them with a pair from Revell's Beatnik Bandit which have the correct shape where the plug wires need to go. Still more to do but now I can sleep at night!

Lookin' good! The new motor mount is much more professional I'm jealous of that jewel-like Olds tripower manifold! I only have the stock kit. Thanks for pointing out the difference between the Revell '50 Olds heads and Beatnik Bandit. The spark plug location's relative flatness is something I would never have noticed until it was too late!

I have been thinking if stuffing the Beatnik Bandit engine in something. Maybe have to change my mind about using the 5 window Hemi in my sedan. I don't have the 50 Olds. Hmmm looks cool.

Very nice as usual, Dennis! I’ve been looking for Grandt Line bolts on eBay, etc without much luck. The ones I’ve found have been too large. Yours are what I’m looking for, do you have the Grandt number for them? TIA

TIA "Grandt Line hex bolts, part #127 which scale out real close to the typical 13/16" lug nuts." ...as pulled from page 2 of Dennis' "Banger Geek" '27 Touring thread. trakinscale.proboards.com/thread/17735/60s-banger-geek-touring-update?page=2*edit* those were the ones Dennis used for lug nuts, not sure if the ones on the engine mount etc are the same size though.

Brilliant combination of bits on that engine, Dennis! This build is a great improvement on what was already a pretty cool model.

It appears you have 2-3 projects nearing the finish line at the same time. Looking forward to seeing them done.
The wheels with trim rings look great!
