Vintage Go-Karts are on The HAMB so I assume that makes them TRaKable.

I want to build a lightweight racing style kart in lieu of a show kart so I won't be using the large padded seat. Therefore I needed to fabricate a seat back as the kit part has the frame back integral with the seat. Also had to extend the belly pan under the seat area.

Drilled holes in the side bolsters to reduce weight and added steering linkage.

Made a front bumper from brass rod.

Opened the holes on the outer sprocket and used it as a template to also drill the inner sprocket.

Made the seat pads, and a better set of pedals. Used a wheel knockoff for the fuel tank cap.

Added brackets for the accelerator and brake linkage.

Not sure the model or the year but the '64 Lancer looks close. A gentlemen on another forum identified the engines as McCulloch.

An older kid in the small town I grew up in had a single engine kart very similar to this. I lusted after that kart! Never had a 1:1 but at least now I can have one in scale.
