I am building a 68 El Camino converted to a 69 and then a 65 Rivera front end added with 66 Rivera interior. The wheels are stock Buick GS wheels so I don't know if it is custom enough for here BUT, it's really cool so I need to ask

I seriously doubt than anyone will question whether this is "custom enough", LOL! Build on! Love the extended look the Riviera front end gives the Elco.

That would be TRAKable to me, too. At the risk of offering unasked-for advice, I'd use more of the Riviera to include the lower 2/3 of the doors and quarter panel/wheel openings to keep the styling flowing better.

I was thinking about that undecided right now. Ws thinking of doing the rear fender wells like the front more open in the rear

Love this idea! The Riv nose looks fantastic on the El Camino so far.

Bad ass! Looks fantastic so far. I agree with the others about incorporating Riviera all the way back for consistency.

There is 2 ways to do this I was trying to keep the El Camino look as it is. If I add the belt line then I would want to change the rear end also. I think if I went that way I would just start with a Rivera and add a bed area to the body instead of the way I went BUT, I may do one like that also I would use the 65-66 El Camino bed for that one. I got into a argument on facebook on why I did not start with the 66 El Camino but, it has a flat windshield instead of the rounded windshield like the 68-72 El Camino. The 66 Rivera dash fit in with no modifying at all.

This is really interesting Irv. I think that as long as you can keep the roof and upper bed sides as they are, your Elky/Riv concept will still work. Gary

I hate to rain on the parade because I love the concept, and I always enjoy your work Irv. But just because a build has a ton of hevy bodywork in it, doesn't make it TRaK-able. If it is a stock appearing vehicle (especially with stock type wheels), even if the body style never existed, it doesn't qualify. Stock bodied vehicles work under the race banner here if they've had significant upgrades to make it faster.
