I see it (a chopped 50's style fenderless '32 Vicky on whitewalls) and I'd say hell yes, it's TRAKable and beautiful too. Just in case it's not working for you Bob, here it is kinds reminds me of one of the original issue Hot Wheels cars, they did a nice rodded Deuce Victoria

I was wondering if this would be TRaK-able. I think my only concern is the rear rubber. They are Halibrands (mid to late 60's from a Fuel Altered) Thanks in advance.

that's badass! it's obviously made for drag racing... the rears are kind fat/wide.....but the AMT '53 Stude came with fatty tires and it was issued in the 60's .....so there must have been some available for the idea to pass on into a kit that isn't exagorated like a show rod type. I feel they are kinda huge....but I don't have any problem with them.

Thank you very much. This is a great forum. It is so nice to see the quality builds here. There is a lot of inspiration.

NO, the question is not if it is TRAKable as it looks right now, since it is obviously a stocker. The question is about the actual car model... The reason it looks like this right now is that it is a preassembled die cast (and I know that die casts have been shown here, of course customized by the owner then and not straight out of the box). To be honest, I dislike preassembled die casts, and I dislike communism even more. Since this is an american forum, I agree that this may be a sensitive subject, and I'm very sorry if my question will upset anyone. I'm by no means a communist, but I bought this one since I like to build strange subjects once in a while (they doesn't tend to be "just another 32 ford" or "just another 49 merc"), and this one even had the right scale (1:24, as opposed to most die casts in 1:18)... In this case it will of course be stripped down and rebuilt again, and modified of course. Since I can't get it in styrene, it has to be done that way. The question is... As long as the style is TRAKable (to be honest, that's not impossible at all), will this one pass or not? I understand that the model itself has absolutely nothing to do with traditional kustoms, and that it may even be very wrong to glorify stuff that was made in the Soviet Union by making nice things like kustoms out of them... Kustoms are fun, Stalin weren't fun at all...

Mattias I might be missing something here, but I'm having an awful hard time seeing why building a custom from a Russian Volga should in any way be offensive in itself... I mean we've already had several Volkswagons and nobody in their right mind would take offense at the mere fact that those are German cars.
As long at you don't cover it in tasteless murals celebrating Joseph Stalin or likewise, I don't see why you shouldn't go ahead and post it once you get started...
If anyone disagrees, I'd like to hear it, but please keep the tone sober!

I like it for the stocker that it is! If I was to build something TRAKable style out of it, I'd likely go for a drag version. I think with a kustom/custom it's uniqueness would be lost.
I think it'd be kool to have one of those on my shelf, just as is shown.
I agree with ChrisV.
I'm curious as to the approximate year of the car depicted. It looks an awful lot like like a Sumca, Taunus, or similar from about 1960?

It was produced between 1957 and 70, however, this one has to be a 1957 or early 1958-model, later examples had a different grille.
I may buy another one to have as a stocker, it was cheap... But that's a completely different story.

Just because you like russian cars does not mean someone will call you a commie. I own a rifle built in communist russia from 1954, that doesnt mean I carry around a card with a red hammer and sickle on it. I say build it and post it. I vote for a mild kustom treatment.

yep...doesn't matter to me as long as it's pre 70 and it's along the lines what we do here.

I grew up during the cold war not for from a major ground zero target (NYC) and except for a little lingering paranoia from all those air raid drills in school I'm over it. I doubt there would be any McCarthy like witch hunts here. I think your little Volga would look incredibly kool as a Gasser!
