Ala Kart was built in 1957! It won America’s Most Beautiful Roadster Trophy at Oakland Roadster Show Twice. Once in 58 and again in 59.
"The Ala Kart is known for being the first Show Rod that turned into a model car kit. After AMT bought the Ala Kart in 1961, the model kit was released late 1961. The Ala Kart model kit sold more than 1 million kits the following year."
Taken from this site if you want to read more on it...http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Ala_Kart
It mentions the air bag suspention but not what it came from.

are suicide doors allowed on cars and trucks that are newer than the '32-34 Fords?
i ask this because the '49 Ford Coupe will be out in Sept and, i want to try this myself. if this is allowed, i may make some posts on it.

Heres one..I'm going to build a nice underslung rod out of the beverly hillbillies olds....is underslung ok for here? I have no idea when underslung rods came about, but I think I've seen a few 30's racers with suspensions done like that.
Secondly I may use a set of the kelsey hayes wire wheels from the 30 woody kit on the black wall tires that came in the same kit..what about 'em they cool?
this will be a quickie fun build, but hopefully trak worthy(and done sooner than the 29 model A on 32 rails)

Hmmm....the best way I know to explain it is to show a pic... on his car the chassis was flipped and the axles mounted over it... same basic premise with what I'm doing to the olds kit..
