looks good, I don't see anything wrong with the arches, but maybe it's the angle? don't be so critical so you can finish it

Thanks Bob! I just don't think the angle of the front wheel wells compliments the build so much any more since I moved the body forward again......looked o.k. when the body was moved back though. This is kind of what I'm talking about......but not cut up into the fender as much.......Ed Hosted on Fotki

I thought I'd show you guys the build that inspired mine.......don't know who built it, or where I found the pic any more. Right now, I'm leaning toward the steel wheels from the '49 Ford kits.....they're pretty damn cool! But, if I run spyder caps I won't be able to use the front wheels. I'll have to rob two more rear wheels from one of my '49 Ford kits then....knowing me, it'll end up with some sort of mags, Halibrands, or custom caps on it! LOL! Ed Hosted on Fotki

When you say you've moved the body do you mean it's been channelled and sectioned? That's what it looks like to me anyway...
It sits really well on those radiused arches, look forward to seeing it in paint.

That stinks! Sorry to hear that one bit the dust! To answer cycolacfan's question.......I had originally 'sectioned' the body by removing a portion of the bottom of the body. I had also moved the body back towards the rear; but left the fenders/wheelbase alone. I was trying to make the front fenders look longer and give more room for the Hemi. I didn't like it as much as I thought, so I moved the body back forward to where it originally was when I had just dropped it. I didn't post any pics of it when the body was moved back. It's not channeled over the frame........just sits low.

Sooooooooooooo, you guys haven't weighed in on which version you like better? Or, have you through your statements?! LOL! What's ironic is that two of my other friends that have seen where this has headed over the last couple of days both said they like the version with the Hemi and no hood better then with the sectioned hood. I was actually thinking of stuffing the blown Olds (w/ two throats on top) out of the Revell Beatnik Bandit in it (and ditching the Thunderbird scoop) if I end up sticking with the sectioned hood. My problem is that I'm constantly coming up with different versions of everything I build; and end up doing one of two things........throwing it back in the box, or building both versions! I've only got one '40 Ford coupe kit left! LOL! Ed

Just my opinion here. I've never really been a big fan of hood scoops on a custom. I much prefer the smooth look overall. I DO like the newly radiused front wheel openings though. I always thought they looked kinda funky from the git go. Okaaaay then..MY vote is to remove the hood scoop...and have the engine UNDER the hood totally and have a smoooooth custom. AND I like the lowered body too! KEEP IT SIMPLE! lol
