As my first WIP here I'll be building Grumpy's 1967 Camaro. Since there is no kit of this car I'll be robbing my parts box and scratch building a few parts to make it so. There's not a lot of info that I can find on the car so I'll do the best I can to be accurate. The kit I will be using The boxed parts Will need to find or make the hood that was on the 1:1. I was surprised to find out that this car did not have a Grump Hump at all. All the Diecast cars I seen had them. Although it looks to be 2 carbs and going by the rules, I'll be using a single quad setup. Remember guys, this is my first one here so be gentle.

Good luck with it Tim, we don't see many 'late' model racers here.
Guessing that's not one of AMTs best detailed kits?

I don't know if they "AMT" have a detailed Camaro kit. I opened up 5 different kits between '67 and '69 and they all seem to be about the same, hardly nothing.
I guess the good thing about it is that since it's going to be a race car, most of the detail would not be needed anyway.

interesting subject...the engine in that kit is a small block IIRC...there's dozens of Revell kits with a well detailed big block, the 66 Chevelle wagon has good one with one 4 bbl intake pscott

Funny you should mention that pscott, I was just getting ready to post some pics of the mold I made from a Revell 396 that I just made. When I have to rob a major part from another kit, I try to replace it so I don't have to rob again the next time. Here's a pic of the mold and some parts I have made so far. I already had a Cragar mold and some headers.

Here's my completed conversion for the hood. The kit came with the typical Z-28 hood so I had to take 3 different hoods from a MPC '69 SS kit, a AMT '69 SS kit make a bottom mold of the Z-28 hood, make a top mold of the SS hood, fill in the slots a bit, shorten the length of the hood about 1/16" and WA-LA! a '67 SS hood that fits! Comparison of the '69 SS hood to the modified '67 SS hood.

I'm not really into doing this for selling them, more my personal stash making for my builds but if there's a part that you need, we can work something out.
