Thanks guys, it's much appreciated. I'm having a bit of fit problems with the interior-chassis-body right now so it might be a few days before I get another update.

Are you using the kit chassis? I had a '68 Camaro project a while back and incorporated the Revell '69 Chassis under it......had to modify the '69 rad support and firewall to fit the AMT '68 body; but it was well worth it. You'll have to remove the molded in firewall and inner fender wells from the AMT body too btw. I didn't go back through your entire thread to see if you were going in this direction or not; so forgive me if you already mentioned using the Revell parts. Now, since my Camaro project was sold off and not TRAK friendly I won't post any pics........but can shoot them over to you if you want......just e-mail me.......Ed

Ed, thanks for the offer, I'll PM you. What I found was that the tub was hitting the hump of the chassis not letting it go forward enough on the body so out came the dremel tool and down went the hump. Still have some work to do on the interior not being wide enough but it's just a little bit so I'll figure something out. Here's a mock up of the stance I have right now. The slicks are just a tad too big in diameter but with the right sized ones there will be just a little more gap between them and the body.

I have to say, working with something as small as that carb, and doing the work you are, is just crazy cool! Great stuff so far. I am liking the stance so far. Someone had built one of these cars and they added strip styrene to the out side of the interior tub and blended in to make it fit. I dont recal wich brands or releases. Just remember it was a camaro like this and they had a interior tub that was too small.

It was probably an AMT because that's the way these are I've been told. BTW, I worked a little bit with the suspension and have everything on there and think I've fixed the chassis problem now. What do you guys think?

Upon further investigation on the internet and reading in the Grumpy's book, it looks as though as the Holley 4150(#3910) was the carb that was installed on the 396/375hp 1967 engines. Holley 4150-#3910 So to be correct for building the SS/C version of this car I'll have to pass on the split carb that I was building and go with a more traditional Holley or as close as I can get to one.

IIRC, the Revell Baldwin Motion Camaro has a decent version of a Holley, but it's lacking the choke horn (smooth on top).

I have a couple of those, I'll check it out and see if it's mod-able.
Thanks

While I wait for some carbs I decided to work on the driver. For some reason it seems that aftermarket parts are 1/24th scale or maybe even a bit bigger and they just are too big for 1/25th scale builds so I had to do something to make this driver smaller and here is what I have come up with so far. Here's how I shortened everything. It doesn't show it in the picture but I had cut off the feet and then cut off about an 1/8" above that cut and then glued the feet back on. I also removed about 1/8" on the upper leg. At the waist area I cut off the body then sanded it at an angle so the body would be leaning forward as if you ever noticed in pictures that the actual drivers did. Modified driver in foreground and original in the back. Next will be modifying the arms.

Oh yes, there will be a stogie. I still need to work on him a bit to make him a little shorter, fill in the face a bit but I think I've got the forward lean about right.
