Well...time to post a build here! It's been in a "just started" form for a while now, but I hope to push forward soon. In short--Monogram '30 coupe on Revell deuce rails. Front suspension is to be decided upon (I have a dropped '31, a '37 truck, and '48 axle to choose from). Rear is what I _think_ is an 8" hung off of an A spring with split '37 'bones. Contemplating switching to a quickchange, but we'll see. Trunk is the Revell '32 5w piece, and Desoto mill is borrowed from the '53 F100 with a scratchbuit u-fab style intake. I will probably scratchbuild some frogmouth scoops, already tried a couple different ways and failed. Trans is a BW T-10(?) from a '57 vette. I couldn't find any good reference for the bellhousing/adapter so I fudged something together. Any ref would be appreciated! I'm torn between keeping it riding authentically high, or Z'ing the rear and lopping off the frame horns so it can sit low like a more contemporary build. Hmm...firewall has been flattened, cowl holes filled, top chopped. Because the body is 1/24 and the frame 1/25, it's looking like the frame will need to be widened so the body doesn't hang off the edges. I've been looking for photos of any build where the builder fixed the beltline trim, just as a guide, because I might try to do the same. I have no idea on the color...but that's a long way away!

I like it. I would keep the ride height as it is in the first picture - that's perfect!

nice start, I believe there is an article here on TRAK that shows how to correct the belt line trim.

Nice stuff going into this build. I'm looking forward to seeing you dial in the stance once you settle on the front end. I really dig the choice of tires, expecially the rears. What are they?

Excellent work so far! Gotta say the stance in the first picture is cooler. Great choice of parts and that home-made intake is just BITCHIN!
FYI: A 30/31 body WILL be slightly wider than the frame so that is okay. A '32 body is an inch wider than the frame on either side too.

I'd go with the dropped axel, it's right for this car, this period.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm definitely leaning towards the first (tall) stance. That way, I don't have to Z the frame, and I can keep the front frame horns. Bernard, the rear tires are random, but I'm pretty sure they're MPC 1932 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron, also in the Gangbusters kit. A google search tells me that Airfix re-released that kit at some point. They come with nice wires, and the Monogram '41 Lincoln wheels fit. Here's something I put together about a month back. Still hoping to pick up the Orange Crate re-issue for the front tires...the sidewall and tread looks like they will match the '32 rears better than the '37 truck tires I'm currently using...The plan is to improve the fit of the new center-section in the Lincoln wheels and then cast a few in resin.

Thanks for sharing the wheel & tire information. Combining the Lincoln wheels with the centers from "32 5-Window" is really clevor!

Nice looking coupe, seems to have a lakes vibe to my eyes.
Great job on the wheel / tyre combo too.

Chris, looking very good. Nice choice of parts, nice fabricating. I wonder if anybody does your wheels and tires in resin?, and a chopped model A body would help us all.
