I revisited this WIP after picking up one of those Monogram 30 kits. You have done a great job. I was wondering how the 1/24 scale body worked with 1/25 scale parts before I dove into a project with the kit.

I've compared the new Revell '30 Model A coupe body to the old Monogram '1/24th' scale body; and they are almost identical in scale; so you have nothing to be concerned about kit bashing the Monogram kit with 1/25th scale parts. The only part of the Monogram kit that slightly stands out as being 1/24th (slightly) would be the fenders when compared to the Revell '31 Model A sedan fenders.

Wow, fun to see this thread pop up again. I guess I should link to the finished photos: trakinscale.proboards.com/thread/17408/30-hemi-coupe?page=1I have painted the hood, but vastly prefer the open-engine appearance so never bothered polishing it out. RE: 1/24 scale parts, I'd say there was a bit of a problem of wheelbase, and the frame seems a bit narrow compared to the body, but it mostly works. Oh, and the tires need to be that bit larger in order to fit the arches and seem convincing. The Revell body may be similar in dimensions, but to me it just looks smaller in every way. I can definitely see the difference. I can also see that IMHO the old Monogram body "feels" more like a model A coupe, despite the missing belt line trim. It's just proportionally better. The old Monogram body should drop right onto the new Revell '29 and '30 frames because they're already stretched, convenient!
