Mike, as the AMT kit is molded, there is a large hump on the upper surface of the splash pan, down under the headlights. This is way exaggerated than on the 1:1. I ground/filed/sanded it so it is only slightly higher than the center part of the pan (under the grille). Sorry my pictures don't show that very well, but the pictures above that FordRodnKustom added to the thread show it clearly. Compare them to the AMT kit and you'll see the difference very well. Gary

Aah okay, I know what you mean - I always sand that smooth. Thanks for the info.

I think I've mentioned the rear suspension, but didn't take a picture until this morning. I know it's crude but it won't be too visible when it's sitting on the tires. Gary

Looking real nice, keep us the great work - got any thoughts about colour yet?
My '55 sedan arrived this morning - only problem is it's likely gonna end up looking almost exactly like yours!

I don't know about crude, looks good to me! My '55 sedan arrived this morning - only problem is it's likely gonna end up looking almost exactly like yours! Mine too, if I ever get it finished! This was taken about five years ago and it hasn't been touched since. Excuse the daisy mags... mock up only. Sorry for the hijack, I'll delete it if you like.

Duane, this is the good ol' AMT kit. And Mike, if yours looks like mine that'll be fine with me. Maybe if you finish yours first..........

Oh boy, are we in the same boat or what! Problem is that there are so many ideas floating around in my head, and I have to get them into plastic. That plus my painting thing, which is that I don't get anything painted. But, I'm seriously thinking that I may get real paint on this one in the next few weeks, red metallic methinks. Gary

Love your 55! It has inspired me to drag out a badman that has been stalled for a few years. But a question, is this Dave Mikrut's 55? ( sooperdave on forums ) I love the perfect radius on the rear tires, and the level stance. Single piece front door glass too... Or you could take inspiration from the AWB '55 in the ultra obscure old movie Pit Stop...

Hi Glenn, I don't know whose '55 it is - had it on my computer for a couple of years so if you find a link to more photos I'd like to see it
