Great lookin Roadster…seems very period correct with nice detailing, the helmet and fuel tank pressure pump especially stand out for me. Got anymore pics you can share?

What a beaut! It has everything that a little dry lakes A-V8 should have to go fast... Kind of reminds me of Tony Nancy's much later roadster for the drags, maybe it's the Red! Love it!

That's a beautiful work of automotive art. Thanks for posting the build thread link, too. For those who haven't looked there, here's just one snip from it:
"... I scratch built a big early version of an Italmechannica blower - how I did that I don't recall, but I was using Alumilite resin at the time and must've made one half as a master....saving the trouble of making all the fins on all sides and then duplicated that by molding two pieces, a left and right side, and putting them together to make one whole unit - (the tan part in the middle with scratch built belt drive attachments..."

Thanks Charley. If I recall correctly, I started the work on the supercharger before Norm of Replicas and Miniatures came out with his excellent resin SCOT supercharger.
My effort is not as detailed, but it looked good enough not to toss it in a parts box.

Well, I took this 29 to a show last weekend. In the "Open Wheel Straight Line" category, there were four other entries, all modern top fuel rail jobs built from kits. There were four awards in this category - (1st, 2nd 3rd and OTB). I figured with all the scratch-built components on my entry, and the different historic look of this 29 compared to the modern rail jobs, I might actually win something for once. When the judging was done, the modern rail jobs took 1st 2nd and third. The 1st place winner also got the OTB (Out of the Box) award. I got nothing. Which is why I'm here on TRAK where I can hang with people that know the value of tradition.

Well, I had a good weekend.
I took this back to the same contest a year later and got a 2nd place in Open Wheel Straight Line competition category...go figure.
