Bernard, I cut the windshield at the bottom. I didn't even check where it was before and where it is after, but it must still be pretty close. I'll be flattening (if you will) the sides of the rear fenders, from the wheel well rearward to the new taillight surrounds. If you look at the picture of the front 3/4 view up on wheels you can kinda see how the fender will flow into the taillight. The bottoms of the rear fenders have already been modified and wrap under now. Gary

The front grille openings remind me of a late model pontiac! I like the canted headlights are awesome! The rear wheel wells Look a tad large to me. This T-bird rocks!

Kool build! The front looks a lot like the Ortiz T Bird, and the rear is Predicta-ish, a good combination!

I'm think your restyling is awesome and is very well executed. The new rear treatment looks like '60 Merc and would prolly use that type of tail light instead of the Caddys. I'd also like to see the car with a roof, the low, frame-less windshield gives it a newer custom-car or salt-flats racer look to me. A modified factory roof with filled port-holes your new body line (peak) across it would be cool.
Good luck on your build, I look foward to seeing more.

I might have used the stock windshield frame, but chopped to fit the new windshield position, but for one problem. It is so badly warped as to be almost totally useless. I say almost because I can strip it of the chrome and try to straighten it. Then I'd have to send it to ChromeTech for replating. There's still that possibility! The taillights with Caddy lenses are a done deal, and they look outrageous to me. Gary

In the last couple of days I've been working on some smaller details including front and rear grilles, the rear license plate frame, and the "outrageous" taillights. I made the license plate frame from .060 styrene, and the clear Caddy bullets from clear sprue. The front fender vents, door handle holes, and the gas door were filled with .060 styrene also. Thanks once more for your comments and suggestions. Gary

OK... That just looks KICK-ASS Gary! This is one of the nicest fully customized projects I've seen in a while!
I'll be honest with you, when I first read your initial post, I was thinking the Caddy taillights might not work too, but didn't post it cause I thought... "Gary's a good builder, he might make it work!"
I think you did make it work... In spades! They look awesome! And the front is just a jaw-dropper!
Keep up the great work buddy! ;D

Outstanding work Gary!!! ;D
The molding around the rear license plate is just awesome!!!
I still think it looks a bit "naked" without a windshield frame, but maybe that's just me being picky...

Wow I go on vacation and come back to check on my favorite site and then this thread. Holy Shit!!!!
This is what a custom is supposed to be - artistic re-styling that improves the original design and ends with a whole new look that is pleasing to the eyes.
Where to start? The rear tail lights and plate are so cool, the grille and canted lights up front, the added subtle body lines and curves. Everything flows so well.
