Chrome wheels yes, scoop no, but if YOU like the scoop, use it!

Im with Von Don, dont like it, takes away from the smoothy styling, but if you like it, go for it!

my vote is to save the scoop for another project. It clutters up the clean lines of this car as you have been building it. ...just my opinion, your decision.

Another vote against the scoop. It is good looking & it is your model, but it doesn't work as well with the rest of the body. I think that scoop would rock on a 49/51 Merc or Ford more than on the 56.

The wavy front on that scoop is the part that "works". The rest of it kind of gets in the way of the flow from front to back. Either way, this build is looking amazing.

that interior absolutely ROCKS!
i like the hood scoop too but i think you'd have to blend it in on the sides and back to look good and like it's supposed to be there

^^I second the blending on the scoop if you use it.

What they said ^
If you use it then sink it in and make it functional by cutting a slot out beneath it. Otherwise save it for another project. Just my humble opinion.

OK well after reading all your well thought out ideas about the scoop I realized that maybe not such a good idea after all. I'll save it for another project. Thanks for helping to put that idea in perspective! I was messing around with color today, running with ChrisV's suggestion about the Kandy Scarlet. I did two test spoons. The one on the right is over red oxide primer and the other is over gray. They look a little maroonish to me? I'll try one over silver later.

I know you said you were going to pass on the scoop, however give a thought to cutting the hole in the hood - mount the scoop on the UNDERSIDE of the hood, and flip the scoop around with the scoop point going towards the rear of the car. Of course this reduces space in the engine compartment, so there's another challenge getting the hood to shut all the way.
The interior is looking great! I like the spoon on the right better. Try it over white also.

Agreed with Von Don, spoon in the right is the way to go. Do you have an extra hood that you could try the scoop "underside"?

Screwing around with more color. Old school Testor's 1631 Burgundy Purple Metal flake enamel. Over white primer on the left and gray on the right. I like it over gray, looks just about right to me. Comments welcome.
