I've decided a color several times! LOL! I'm back to my original color choice, which is Pontiac light metallic blue......like the custom '58 Impala I posted earlier tonight. The interior is going to be mostly white, with a lighter blue for the pleated inserts. Ed

Thanks for the kind words Bud! I am glad that it's inspiring you and others.......even if half of the changes I am making won't be noticed by most people who see it; or because of visibility when it's finished! Lol! I guess I get as much enjoyment out of all the 'little' corrections I make to build, as much as completing one. The model demons keep trying to pull me away from this project to work on new ones though.......I have to keep fighting them off with a 2x4! LOL! Ed

Ummm, Ed! I hope you won't think me out of place, but I think you've made a very big mistake with this build you've got going here. Well, the thing is, uhh, a lot of us were talkin' kinda behind your back, and we, uhh, just want you to know that we think you ARE DOING ONE HELL OF A JOB, MAESTRO!!! OK, so April first is a couple weeks away, and I'm the only culprit here. I just wanted to get your attention. You sure have mine!!! Thanks (and sorry if I p'd you off.) Gary

Just too let you know Ed Im not trying too be a smart ass or anything But 39/40 ford running boards dont acctually tuck tight too the bottom of the body there is an 1 1/4 gap between the rocker and the runningboards My dad has a real one that we are both restoring and Ive takin those damb runningbaords on and off about a 10 times I welded a quarter panel patch on the passenger side rear quarter behind the door It was a pain in the ass to do. making sure the fenders, door and running boards lined up.. your last pic post looked pretty close to where the body should set aganst the running boards .note the two pics Ive posted 4 ya ? yea I know ones a sedan but the running board rocker gap is preety much the same on all of them your build is really coming along great! I kind of thought so myself; but some of the ref. pics can be deceiving! Lol! Thanks for clearing that up Bud! Now, there is a panel that goes straight up on the back side of the running board, right? Sort of like an 'L' chanel. Otherwise, you'd see daylight between the running board and the bottom of the body. Ed
